The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as General Workers for the upcoming 2024 South African General Elections. As a General Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of polling stations and assisting with various election-related tasks..

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up and organizing polling stations according to IEC guidelines.
  • Assisting voters with the voting process and providing guidance when necessary.
  • Ensuring the security and integrity of the voting process.
  • Assisting election officials with administrative tasks as required.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness at the polling station throughout the election day.
  • Following all instructions provided by the IEC and cooperating with fellow staff members.

Requirements:

  • South African citizenship or valid residency status.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and/or local languages.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • No prior experience required, training will be provided.
