Core Job Purpose
Supervise and co-ordinate the actions of support staff to ensure that the indoor sport facilities are maintained, cleaned and prepared thoroughly to optimally support the usage, programmes and events of Madibaz Sport and external clients.

Key Performance Areas
The key performance areas for this post are to supervise all actions necessary for maintaining and preparing the indoor sport facilities at the Nelson Mandela University South Campus for sporting and non-sporting activities and events, with specific attention to the following:

Maintain quality standards and efficient service delivery
Staff Supervision
Event hosting preparation and support
Cleaning Functions
Compliance to Safety, Health and Environmental requirements
Maintenance of Tools, Chemicals and Equipment

Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills including the ability to effectively liaise with athletes, coaches and administrators
Strong organizational skills and team leader qualities
Knowledge and experience of technical and operational processes and procedures of facility management
Knowledge and experience of Occupational Health and Safety requirements in a facility management environment

Minimum Requirements
In order to be considered for appointment to this post, candidates must possess a Grade 12 certificate and have a valid driver’s license (code 08 EB). Candidates must have a minimum of three years’ supervisory experience in leading a team in the Cleaning/Hygiene or Sport Event Management industry in in which competence has been gained.
A Specialist Hygiene and Cleaning Services or similar qualification, Certificates in First Aid level 1 and Machine operating efficiency certificates for the relevant machinery to be used in area of operation will be an advantage.

Knowledge of the technical rules and standards of the sport surface preparation applicable in the areas supervised will also be a further advantage.

Please note that the working hours extend to weekends and after-hours
