A specialist risk insurance company requires an Accountant with reinsurance experience. This is an urgent contract role with the option to extend on a more long term basis.

Responsibilities:

Compiling Re-insurance proportional quarterly accounts
XOL calculations (reinstatement premium and recoveries)
Managing payments of proportional and non-proportional accounts
Reconciling Re-insurance balance sheet accounts
Preparing all Re-insurance related journals (claims, premium, commission etc.)
Calculation of annual profit commissions
Responsible for tracking and accounting for cash calls
Preparation of quarterly triangulations
Preparing and assisting with general month end journals
Assist with our internal and external audit requirements
Assist with the data preparation for the annual re-insurance renewal
Dealing with foreign entities and their profit and loss statements
Responsible for the allocation of foreign expenses incurred
Skills and Attributes:

Strong understanding of accounting
Re-insurance or insurance experience - NOT Negotiable
Experience with Accpac and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and other advanced functions)
Self-motivated and proactive. Able to take responsibility and ownership of the work
Attention to detail is crucial
Able to work well under pressure - time management skills essential
Innate problem solver and have a “make it happen” attitude
Excellent standard of output
