A. Job Overview

Driver responsibilities include truck and trip management.

B. Areas of Responsibility (Your duties will include but are not limited to)

1 Pre-trip Checks

Conduct checks as per pre-trip check list
Check that vehicle is road worthy and fuel level is adequate
2 Trip Arrangements

Obtain delivery routing sheet at pre-departing session
Familiarise yourself with prescribed route to ensure no deviation occurs without required consent
No unauthorised stops are allowed, and the alarm should be raised with the control centre should you encounter and unsafe or suspicious circumstances
Vehicle is not be left unattended without consent from Site Controller
No unauthorised lifts
You are in full charge of the delivery process and need to comply with all relevant procedures
3 Re-fuelling

The allocated petrol card and logbook are to be kept in the vehicle at all times
The vehicle may only be re-fuelled at a Caltex Star Mark filling station
The logbook should be completed, and the payment slip secured as per requirements
Logbook to be checked by Warehouse Manager and slips handed in
4 Teamwork

Support department managers and co employees.
Actively participate as a member of the team
Performing any other task, not specified herein, which from time to time may be assigned by the manager.
5 Housekeeping and Safety Standards

Ensures that cleaning and housekeeping standards on equipment and work areas are maintained according to laid down standards and norms
Ensure Personal hygiene standards are maintained
Take reasonable care for own health and safety as well as the health and safety of others
Wear the correct PPE in accordance with the company policy and procedures
No interference or abuse of any health, safety and environmental welfare equipment
Keep work areas clean and free from hazards and risks
C. Knowledge, skills, and experience required
Educational Background:

· Grade 12

· Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand Afrikaans & English

Knowledge/Skills:

· Code 10 (A & C1) Licence with 2 Years’ Experience

· Must know the Johannesburg area well

· Operational Agility

· Ensure Vision, Mission and Values underpin all activities
