The employer is a Private Game Lodge in Limpopo, seeking the professional services of a Lodge Manager.

Required Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years guiding experience in a Big 5 Game Reserve (Minimum 4 Star).

Job Specifications:

Field Guide:
Ensures the highest quality of game experiences for the guests;
Hosts guests in line with the Lodge standards of excellence;
Ensures that the guests’ and staff’s safety is always a priority;
Communicates with the Lodge Manager to ensure the best possible experience for guests;
Conscientious maintenance and care of vehicles and related equipment;
Carries out when required administration duties timeously and effectively;
Undertakes a process of continuous education of self and other staff members.
Hunting Guide:
Plans, organizes and conducts hunting trips for guests. Plans itinerary in conjunction with the lodge manager to determine best routes and sites;

Arranges transport for hunters, equipment, meals, staff etc. in conjunction with the Assistant lodge manager;
Always puts the client’s and guests safety first and ensures (along with the on-site Professional Hunter) that legal compliance is met and adhered to;
Administer first aid to injured guests;
Communicate with the lodge manager to ensure the best possible experience for guests (drinks and meal stops, added extras that may be available etc.).
Lodge Hostess / Administrator
All administrative work required for effective management of the lodge.
Upkeep styling of and décor of the lodge.
Preparation of the stock inventory at the lodge.
Acquiring all stock required for effective management of the lodge.
Receptionist and front desk duties.
Accepting and welcoming of guests.
Ensuring that the lodge is presentable at all times, refreshments and consumables ensuring that rooms are prepared for guest arrivals.
Ensuring that guest requests and requirements are attended to timeously and within an acceptable standard to the Company.
Management of the spa and related facilities;
Ensuring that the spa is maintained at a presentable standard acceptable to the company.
Reporting of maintenance issues arising or identifies during cleaning, and overseeing / supervising the cleaning ladies and ensuring the cleanliness of all areas of the lodge are maintained at an acceptable standard.
To comply with all lawful and reasonable instructions given to her
Required Guiding Qualifications (100% non-negotiable):

FGASA Level 1 MINIMUM (NQF Level 2)

Public Driver’s Permit and Code 8 License

First Aid Level 1

Advantageous Qualifications and Experience:

Trails Guide

Bolt Action / Manually Operated Rifle Handling

FGASA Level 2 or 3 (NQF 4)


Professional Hunters Qualifications (highly advantageous):

Professional Hunting License/ Outfitter’s License

Police Clearance

Member of PHASA

Relevant firearms licenses

Salary: R15000 - R20000 pm
