As a Sales Representative – Technical Insulation, you will be responsible for the following:
Develop an in-depth understanding of competitor’s strengths and weaknesses and their activities in the marketplace and making recommendations to management regarding how strategy should be adapted.
Proactively identifying new opportunities for enhanced specifications, uncovering and understanding these through application of trained techniques, value chain knowledge, commercial awareness and in depth knowledge of customers’ businesses
Articulate how our offer stands out, offer specification expertise and advice on the advantages of our comprehensive product range, communicating the value proposition to the customer.
To maximise sales of Isover Products in the Region by actively promoting to the designated customer base thus ensuring sales budgets are met.
Develop sales plans & submitting sales forecasts in order enable manufacturing to accurately plan production requirements within service charter requirements.
To follow up on project leads and maintaining own project data base thereby ensuring that SG products are specified and that specifications are turned into sales.
High focus on monitoring building/industrial projects through efficient communication with all relevant stakeholders in the building construction value chain. This is to ensure contractors and distributors are provided with the customer service level required.
Awareness of broader SGCP proposition to pass on potential opportunities presented.
Provide product training to customer base, including indirect customers with influence such as specifiers.
Provide on-going training on products and applications (thermal, fire and acoustics) to ensure architects, engineers, QS’s, direct and indirect customers as well as authorities can be assisted professionally.
Build and grow relationships with key customers (direct and indirect) to ensure loyalty towards SG is maintained and/or improved.
Assist Credit Control with collection of overdue debt and prompt resolution of outstanding claims thereby improving debtor days.
Assist Credit Control with information on customers and using market vigilance to minimise risk of potential debt write-offs.
Follow up of customer complaints and logging complaints within ISO 9001 system to ensure professional feedback to customers on the root cause of the complaint and preventative measures implemented.
Responsibility for Safety aspects in own working environment.
Qualifications required to fulfil the role
Appropriate tertiary technical or technical sales qualification.
Specific Work Experience, Knowledge and Skills required to fulfil the role
3-5 years’ sales and marketing experience preferably in a technical industry complimented with experience in the specification of technical products.
Computer literacy in MS Office (Excel/ Word/PowerPoint) essential.
Understanding of current market legislation, e.g. SANS 10 400 and the Green Star Rating System and practical implications and impacts within a business.
Supply chain awareness, understanding the process and identifying/targeting opportunities.
Sound technical ability, i.e. the ability to understand and explain the basic principles of building physics (heat transfer, fire properties, acoustics, etc.).
Requires a good knowledge of the technical industry that includes networking with Specifiers (Architects/Quantity Surveyors/Consulting Engineers, Distributors and Contractors).
Strong team player and ability to provide Training to Professionals.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to deal with contractors, perform site inspections.
Ability to work under pressure
