Description

The purpose of an Application Support Analyst is to maintain and operate business applications as well as maintain the integrity of data contained. Provide technical support on the applications to ensure customer service levels are achieved. Logging and tracking of service impact issues with the vendor for resolution when necessary. This is a collaborative role that requires a close working relationship with Software Developers, Business Users, and testing teams to ensure that functional designs meet Business requirements. This is a technical role that requires technical development background in order to understand non-functional system behaviour and requirements and make recommendations for / be involved in improving scalability and performance enhancements across infrastructure, application and database layers of systems.

Responsibilities

Ensuring applications are up and running (Systems availability).
Ensuring the delivery of files/data to reporting systems (Service availability)
Implementation of releases across applications in our environment (IT/IS rollouts).
Ensuring secure connectivity between mediation systems and clients, internal and external.
Performing standby duties across applications.
Providing insight and driving automation throughout the environment.
Requirements

Qualifications:

Degree / tertiary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related fields.
Skills / Experience:

3 - 5 years relevant work experience of which at least two or more years is in Application Support.
Experience working with agile operating systems, databases such as SQL / Oracle.
Experience in the use of analytics - log file analysis and troubleshooting.
Experience managing stakeholders.
Professional experience and knowledge of Financial Markets are strongly advantageous.
Experience with Automation is desirable.
