Job Purpose

This role is an exciting opportunity for an HR Generalist who will work alongside the Tax Talent Managers, the Talent Leader and the Tax Operations team to support the Tax business unit in implementing the talent priorities and translate strategy into practical, tangible recommendations and actions. He/she will also ensure the management of the main talent activities of the Tax team.

The role reports to the Talent Leader of Tax based in our Johannesburg office to assist with all HR initiatives. Consistency and confidentiality in this role are crucial as all tasks and duties will be around people and for people at any given moment.

Experience
Minimum 6 years relevant working experience in the Talent space

Degree in Human Resources Management
Fluency in English
Good Knowledge of MsOffice

Performance Management
Execute performance management processes as set by the Firm
Identify and assist in resolving issues that arise from the performance management process by being visible
Act as a liaison if there are any concerns or issues that may arise
Providing insight and value around people issues, demonstrating a robust and professional approach
Providing support to employees on the performance management system, ad hoc training on the system.

Employee Relations
Reporting into and consulting with the national Employee Relations team; responsible for managing employee relations in the Tax service line, including but not limited to; acting as consultant to line managers in managing poor performance as well as overseeing misconduct and disciplinary procedures in compliance with legal requirements.
Recruitment
Assist in identifying and monitoring recruitment needs and be a liaison with the recruitment team to ensure timely filling of positions and smooth running of process
Assist with sourcing of candidates through networks
Attend candidate interviews (screening and final) as a Business Unit HR representative
Assist with the integration of new joiners induction processes and associated administration procedures operate effectively
Regular updates and reporting to the Talent Leader and Hiring Manager/s on the recruitment status updates
Assist with facilitating and adhering to recruitment policies & processes (internal transfers, referral bonuses, assessments, etc.)
Interview and manage graduate and TVET Programme coupled with monitoring learning maps and learner experiences.
Ensuring all administration in respect to the above programmes is managed according to EY’s administration process.

Learning and Development
Maintain a good relationship with Learning and Development Team and consult appropriately when required on matters relating to learning maps and nominations for learning/training interventions.
Represent and be the point of contact for and on behalf of Tax
Facilitate or assist with facilitating business unit required learning or training when required
Co-ordinate and run specific HR monthly New Joiner induction programme
Operational deliverables

General administration, including but not limited to completion of relevant forms or documents required by the people centre.
Provide monthly payroll input as required by the business
Deliver on MIS (Management Information System) and reporting
Data integration checking
Ensure excellence of quality of information as provided by the people centre
Partnering with the people centre and payroll
Adhering and assisting in enabling the execution of people strategic objectives
Providing insight and value around people issues
Act as a custodian of the diversity and inclusiveness objectives as set out in the Firm’s strategy
Be able to identify people specific projects relevant to business unit needs
