To provide technical support, perform routine and stat analyses of samples within the Clinical Pathology laboratory environment

Requirements:
National Certificate (Medical Technician - Clinical Pathology)
HPCSA registration as Medical Technician (Clinical Pathology)
18 months experiential learning as a Learner Technician within a pathology environment (Clinical Pathology)
Understanding of pathology test procedures.
Knowledge of instrumentation and methodologies.
Knowledge of Quality Control.
Basic knowledge of MS Windows
Basic knowledge of Excel
Basic knowledge of MS Word
Computer skills
Communication skills
Numerical reasoning skills

Advantageous:
1 year as Medical Technician in a Clinical laboratory environment
Knowledge of the Meditech system
Knowledge of Ampaths safety, health and environment management policy

Key Responsibilities:
Process routine bench work in laboratory in order to ensure efficient processing of specimens.
Perform administration tasks in order to ensure effective administration systems in the laboratory.
Provide technical support within laboratory in order to ensure the efficient flow of specimens and timeous resulting of specimen.
Maintain good client relations in order to promote the image of Ampath.
