Position Purpose :

To ensure the optimal utilisation of high voltage overhead track equipment by performing quality maintenance, alterations,

construction, inspections and repairs to overhead track equipment, transmission line, negative return circuits and blue

pipeline bonds, according to prescribed quality and safety standards in line with dead working conditions.

Position outputs :

To supervise contractors, trade hands, Infra Assistants, Trainee Traction Linesman, and unauthorised personnel
To construct and maintain overhead track equipment (OHTE) according to required standards
Supervise and monitor the work performed by team and contractors and ensure work compliance to contract terms, safety
and quality standards
To ensure that workers on site adhere to safety standards
To transport staff and material from the station depot to site and back
To issue work permits

To attend to emergency breakdowns on site
To operate and pilot on track machines and cranes
To provide on the job training, coaching and guidance to subordinates, trainees and unauthorised personnel
To issue reports to the Assistant Foreman
Qualifications & Experience :
Grade 12 with Maths and Physical Science
Category A Red / A Brown licence
Train Working Rule as applicable to Infrastructure personnel
Code 29
RRV certificate
Fire fighting
First Aid
Working on heights certificate
ET1 and ET2
Code C1 Drivers Licence with PDP
Successfully completed the prescribed modular training traction linesman
