Job Description:
Our Client is online news platform which carries quality content across its various editorial pillars including: news, business, sport, lifestyle and entertainment, They are now hiring a Digital Journalist to enhance all aspects of its digital media (social, online and multimedia) reporting, your main role will cover current affairs and news reporting, analysis and opinion.

Job Requirements:
Relevant degree in journalism.
Display an interest in digital media technology and innovation.
Hunger to learn and develop quickly in a deadline-driven environment.
Should work accurately with speed and focus.
Willing to work shifts (evening/weekend).
Two years’ experience in online journalism would be an advantage as well as a proven track record in political reporting, analysis and opinion making.
Excellent storytelling skills; whether written or via multimedia. Strong grammar and writing skills are a must.
Strong computer skills and a good knowledge of the web, multimedia and social media.
Can work independently or as a member of a team.
Can take direction well.

Responsibilities:
Produce well-written, accurate copy to tight deadlines.
Daily maintenance and updating of content across The various digital platforms.
Promotion of content on social media platforms in line with the company's digital strategy.
Writing, editing and processing content in line with the publication's style.
Work with the various editorial teams to ensure lively, interesting online pieces.
Source breaking news and topics of interest daily without necessarily leaving your desk. Field work may be necessary, so please have a valid driver’s licence.
Salary R10 000 - R12 000
