Key Responsibilities:
Delivering the highest standard of counselling services;
Referring to appropriate services in their communities;
Tracking participants for follow-up
Maintaining regular documentation and records of all daily activities;
Conduct the following test:
oPOC creatinine
oA1c and cholesterol
oNCD
Assisting the supervisor in achieving all stipulated QA/QC targets;
Using point of care devices for participant screening;
Collecting data and completing research field forms or/and any other survey activities;
Developing and maintaining good working relationships with local community stakeholders;
Carrying out any other activities deemed necessary for the success of the project.
Link participant to care.
Additional Responsibilities:
Mobilising participants to receive counselling and testing.
Recruiting and screening participants to the study.
Requirements
Key Requirements:
Grade 12;
Certified in HIV counselling and testing
At least 2 years relevant counselling, facilitation and community experience;
Fluency in isiZulu and English;
Preference will be given to applicants with:
1 year, Code E or similar, unendorsed driver’s license;
Sound written and verbal communication skills;
Prior knowledge and experience of HIV/AIDS issues
Previous experience with home based HIV testing and counseling
Exposure to data collection on mobile devices
Good organizational skills and problem-solving skills
The ability to work accurately, independently and in a team
Willingness to work after hours and over weekends and in rural communities.
