Job Description
The main purpose of the job: Is to maximising sales turnover in the store as well as providing provide support and supervision to the Sales Team


Maximizing the sales turnover of the store by:

Managing customer conflict

Setting challenging targets for the sales staff

Arranging product training courses for relevant staff

Dealing with customer queries

Listening to technical requirements of customers and offers advise and / or alternatives

Portraying a professional and helpful image


Managing sales staff by:

Conducting interviews for job applicants

Counselling and disciplining poor performing employees

Coordinating training and development needs for sales staff

Administering commissions and remuneration incentive schemes for all Sales staff

Coordinating and administering all Health and Safety aspects


Utilising the Kerridge system and procedures to maximum effect and implements improvements by:

Ensuring that the Kerridge system is being adhered to at all times

Ensuring that all staff are properly trained on Kerridge system

Advising Support Office of necessary refinements to system


Supervising the Sales function by:

Running, checking and distributing sales status reports to the sales Team to ensure they ae up to date every day

Checking GP by running the minimum GP report and ensure that variances are investigated and corrected

Checking and investigating bad risk stock (Non stock and Specials with 0 reserved) and ensure the salesmen follow-up and return such stock

Ensuring that the Sales Team have an updated manual print-out of the stock file in case of system failure and that the off-line transaction books are ready for instant use in case of system failure

Job Requirements
Matric with a sales qualification & Valid Driver’s License

3 year’s retail sales experience in building / construction environment

Previous supervisory experience would be an advantage

Kerridge and sales/admin experience
