Purpose of the Position:
To develop competitive day to day schedules, in line with scheduling strategy

Key Performance Objectives
Tasks

Content Co-ordination & Creation
Coordinate viewing and evaluation of music videos
Clear music rights of music videos
Identify content opportunities suitable for Afrikaans Music Channels
Approval of music video content for commissioned shows
Produce content offering that meets targets
Project managing of new channel requirements
Technical advisor for new live broadcasting opportunities
Liaises with Commissioning Assistants as to the running orders and the delivery and receipt of all local and licensed programming for the channel
Creating online and on-air graphics for channel features
Identifying marketing opportunities
Assisting marketing team with creation of on-air and online material

Scheduling
Super user and consultant for business system, Selector.
Develop scheduling strategies based on TVR data and customer feedback
Generate a daily music schedule and check for song history conflicts
To ensure rotations and database management upkeep is done on a daily basis
Ensure scheduling clocks are fully functional
Provide final approval of the finished daily log
Facilitate pro-active and creative discussions around music programming (for public holidays and special projects) and ensure effective implementation thereof
Ensure good relationships are maintained with Record Companies on behalf of the channel
Stay abreast of international and local popular music trends
Participate in weekly Playlist Meetings
Schedule on air promos
Liaise with DStv Media Sales with regards to any problems with ad break lengths
Be responsible for on-air playout and liaise with MCR with regards to any on-air error
Source Local and International video content for the channel
Liaise with editors and library with regards to the frequent transference of new material onto the system
Traffic and transcoding of license deal material (licensed programmes and trademark licenses)
Contribute to content development where needed for the Channel.
Be able to identify new trends (Keep abreast of global broadcasting trends regarding music scheduling and platforms)

Research & Analyses
Maintain an up to date knowledge of competitor schedules, competing programme launches and major competitive initiatives
Utilise and analyse research in order to create innovative and competitive schedules that meet set channel target ratings

Manage QC and traffic of content for Afrikaans Music
Successfully assist once off suppliers with getting content through M-NET's QC process
Ensure quick turn around on materials delivered directly to channel
Meta data entry for music videos on business systems.
Create a saving for division managing QC and traffic of these materials internally
Improve positive relationships with external stakeholders - assisting, testing and providing useful constructive feedback to clients

Stakeholder Management
Maintain music industry relationships
Send weekly feedback to artists, labels and Managers with regards to the outcome of their video submission
Liaise with editors and library with regards to the frequent transference of new material onto the system

Compliance
Ensure compliance with BCCSA regulations and guidelines
Schedule deadlines are met as per SOP
Checks to make sure no duplication or error of titles on other channels as per SOP
Ensure schedule is accurate and without errors

Qualifications Essential
A Degree in Marketing/Business Management/Media Studies

Experience
A minimum of 5 years of programme scheduling experience
Extensive music knowledge is essential
Broadcast/entertainment industry and multiplatform experience
Knowledge of current and future content trends in multiple markets
