Conducting and coordinating internal and external safety audits.
Liaising with internal and external customers as well as relevant statutory bodies.
Contributing to and executing tasks within agreed timelines related to the company’s site safety management program.
Maintaining set targets related to site safety (LTIFR, MTC’s, Near misses).
Inspecting the workplace and workplace equipment to ensure they meet safety regulations and legislation.
Advising managers on safety, health and environmental matters.
Planning, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the health and safety strategies, policies, plans and procedures of the organisation.
Assisting with investigating accidents and unsafe working conditions as well as studying possible causes and recommending remedial actions.
Participating in external audits as well as conducting occupational health, safety and environmental related surveys and providing recommendations.
Developing, implementing, reviewing and training staff on emergency plans.

Ensure implementation of Calgro HSE Management System and strategy within the area of responsibility in order to attain the targets set.
Ensure implementation of HSE Standards and procedures, policies on a project.
Develop and monitor HSE risks/risk management process in accordance with Calgro and client requirement
Ensure monitoring and analysing of HSE performance in site and identify and communicate log and lead indicators.
Enforce safe behaviour and continuously address At Risk Behaviour
Ensure compliance with legal requirement
Initiate SHE specific HSE awareness and campaigns.
Maintain an efficient recording system to ensure that all training and licencing of operators and any other HSE incident records are kept safely.
Requirements:
Grade 12
Registration with SACPCMP as a CHSO
Health and Safety Qualification – National Diploma in Safety, Health Management / Environmental Health
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in a Construction Industry
HSE experience
Behavioural Competency:
Ability to co-ordinate, monitor and assess - attention to detail
Familiar with Construction Regulations and Laws relating to its delivery compliance
Computer literacy
Strong customer service skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Salary: R21,000.00 /month
