Purpose of the position:

Support, communicate and ensure compliance to SHE legislation, standards, policies and procedures. Monitor and evaluate compliance to SHE legislation, standards, policies and procedures

Qualification ans Experience

Samtrac

Safety Rep training – MQA advantageous

3 years’ work experience

Heavy industry and/ or Mining

Competencies:

Computer Literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook)

Good communication

Inspections and monitoring

Must be able to pay attention to detail, manage time effectively

Incident reporting

Aware of shut down, maintenance activities

Knowledge:

Knowledge of mining legislation applicable to the work environment

Machinery regulations/ standards

Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor all employees and contractors – all safety issues,

Must be willing to work shifts

Contractor work permit/ authorisation

Monitor Tool box

Conduct PTO

Evaluate, Monitor and Enforce:

risk assessment

restricted access into areas and barricading

Permit to work/ lockout, including confined space

Completion, clearance and handover of permit

Isolation and lockout

Confined space

Hot work

Elevated areas

Live work

Inspection of areas and locked devices

lifting and rigging work

working at heights

scaffolding

TMM activities

Key control

Confined space

Leads, hoses, and extension cords, mobile lighting

Stacking and storage

Management of hazardous chemicals

Machinery, Tools, equipment – portable, power, electrical, ladders

Air, dust, noise exposure

Work stoppage

Incident reporting and root cause analysis

PPE monitoring on site

Coaching and behavior monitoring

Housekeeping

Daily reporting and feedback

Duration of employment:

6 Weeks - Temporary position

Successful candidate must be available immediately

Must reside in Thabazimbi, Limpopo
