Role Purpose:
The Senior Paid Media Strategist will be responsible for managing the paid media division in Elite Inc.
This is a hands-on role with a key focus on shaping the media buyers to ensure the expertise is deployed to best effect to optimise results on paid media channels to support ‘always-on’ acquisition of customers and prospects.
Closely aligned with Marketing leadership, the role will deliver on ambitious scaling and revenue growth targets and will ensure the analytics and data are used to identify paid traffic opportunities that contribute to the overall success and business growth.
Additionally, you will be experienced in building trust in a complex matrix organisation, working with colleagues across Product, Fulfillment, Sales etc while aligning acquisition deliverables across local and global teams.
More specifically, the holder of this role will:
Develop, maintain and support the roll-out of the acquisition strategy across all Paid Search channels
Recruit and shape the Media Buyer Acquisition members to meet the delivery demand and build strong relationships with external agencies
Ensure acquisition budgets are in place and that the teams are driving efficiencies and growth within existing channels while optimising quality of targeting, media cost and ROI.
Ensure any corrective actions required in terms of paid traffic are dealt with quickly and efficiently to not impact overall revenue targets
Manage acquisition strategies from concept to execution, defining objectives, audience targeting approach, KPIs and data reporting requirements with partner agencies
Develop global relationships with agencies, DSPs, publishers to scale new capabilities and improve the always-on delivery process
Able to act in a quick-paced test & learn environment, trialing new segmentation, media buying tactics, messaging construct and product offers
Work with other Marketing divisions such as Editorial and Monetisation to ensure seamless customer experience is achieved and collaboration results in achieving of business revenue targets.
Sourcing and management of external agencies as number of traffic channels increase
Work with Analytics functions to understand market trends, consumer preferences, competitors in order to inform positioning, messaging and selection and optimisation of traffic channels
Connect and share best practices with other company markets, be equally keen to apply learnings or trial techniques
Stay interested in the latest digital technology developments and provide ideas to stand out
Key Accountabilities
Accountable for maximizing revenue from paid traffic across the e-commerce platforms, you will work closely with agencies and partners to identify new targeting/re-targeting opportunities
Manage the deployment of the digital business strategy with programmatic display, aggregators, affiliates, SEO, PPC, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram etc across the company product portfolio
Assists with the diversification of traffic channels to at least 10 channels by 2019
Ensure each traffic channel contributes a minimum of 15% and maximum of 40% to revenue
Has a clear understanding of measurements and metrics per traffic channel, and is focused on ensuring CPA and CPL are in line with targets set.
Exceptional focus on detail, with daily review of metrics and recommendations of corrective actions required
What you should have:
Google Analytics Certification
Google Adwords Certification
A tertiary education is required, preferably BSc/BA in Marketing, Digital Media or a related field
3+ years of experience in Digital Paid Media
Hands-on experience leading teams
Proven track record with Facebook, Google and YouTube campaign development and implementation aligned with company metrics
Proven track record in managing large scale projects and global accounts, playing a pivotal role in increasing digital acquisition and leading winning campaigns
Excellent understanding of digital media landscape with ability to maintain strong collaborative relationships with established stakeholders, including agencies, external partners and internal clients
Possess a blend of business and technical savvy; ability to drive strategy into action
An entrepreneurial drive, with the ability to deconstruct and solve problems, to investigate drivers and figure out why things happen
Customer focused, results based approach, able to deliver to deadlines
Demonstrates flexibly when addressing shifting or competing priorities.
Proven ability to influence large teams without direct leadership authority.
Strong Analytical and Presentation skills.
Energetic, positive attitude and team player.
