The Systems and Network Administrator maintains the company’s network and hardware infrastructure to ensure network availability to all system users. In addition, working with the IT Manager, the position plans, coordinates and implements IT related infrastructure and improvements.
Key Performance Areas (KPA’s) & Responsibilities
Provides a 1st / 2nd / 3rd line support service: On-site, telephonic and remote PC, server and network support
Installs, configures and maintains user workstations on company LAN/WAN; servers (Windows & Linux) and the Network Infrastructure and related technologies, including QNAP NAS, VPN, WiFi, VoIP, Fortigate
OS Image Deployment
Performs root cause analysis on the major incidents/problems
Conducts daily Server and Network diagnostics and checks
Ensures compliance with international standards such as ISO/IEC 27001
Supervises IT support staff
Liaises with Service Providers
Performs ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
Performs any other IT related duties as required by management
Ideal Requirements
Formal relevant qualification and 5+ years’ experience
Knowledge of, and experience in:
Windows 7 to 10 system support;
Active Directory / Domain and general Windows Server administration and management;
All office packages;
Microsoft SQL server;
VoIP technologies (Yealink)
Veeam Backup and Restore
Monitoring software. Verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs
Networking (WAN/LAN, Wireless, VPN, DNS, DHCP, Cabling, TCP/IP, VLAN’s, Troubleshooting)
Hyper-V and VM creation / backup / restoration / admin
E-mail setup
Backup Administrator + Auditing of Backups and integrity of Catalogues
Document Management server administration
Ability to diagnose and fix Hardware / Software problems on workstations as well as servers (including printers)
Advanced understanding of technical issues, both hardware and software, for infrastructure (servers, networking, telephony) and end user equipment
