Introduction
To develop food products which can be produced safely, legally and to the quality standard the Vital brand stands for. To develop the manufacturing processes and recipes of food products and work on existing and newly-discovered ingredients to invent new recipes and concepts.

To develop food products which can be produced safely, legally and to the quality standard the Vital brand stands for. To develop the manufacturing processes and recipes of food products and work on existing and newly-discovered ingredients to invent new recipes and concepts.

Responsibilities:

?Modify existing products and processes and develop new ones

?Check and suggest improvements to safety and quality control procedures in Vital and suppliers' factories, from the raw material stage through to the finished product ?Research current consumer markets and latest technologies to develop new product concepts

?Run trials of new products - either alongside or together with product development

?Coordinate launches of new products

?Assist in investigating customer complaints or product related issues

?Compile, check and approve product specifications and labelling in conjunction with the regulatory department

?Work closely with packaging technologist on new innovations

?Conduct experiments and produce sample products

?Design and optimize processes to ensure food products are manufactured with consistent flavour, colour and texture in large quantities

?Build relationships with suppliers and customers

?Ensure products are profitable.

Profile
Requirements:

?Relevant Food Science Degree or Diploma, Btech orMasters degree would be preferable

?5-8 years experience in product development, preferably with a familiarity with stability testing, food regulations and validation principles

?Extensive experience in sensory evaluations, product development and project management will be advantageous

?Excellent attention to detail, commercial awareness and innovative thinking skills

?Extensive experience of successfully developing food products from concept to launch stage is crucial

?Packaging material exposure will be highly advantageous
